Chapter 1: The Journey of Writing on Medium

Whenever I share my earnings or statistics from my Medium articles, I frequently receive inquiries from individuals curious about my path to success. My consistent response centers around two key elements: dedication and enthusiasm.

First and foremost, a genuine passion is essential. Writing solely for monetary gain is unsustainable in the long term. When embarking on your Medium journey, it's crucial to recognize that initial follower counts will be minimal, growth may be sluggish, and viewership could be nearly non-existent. Consequently, you might find yourself earning only a few dollars during certain months.

This reality often leads many to abandon the platform after a short stint, questioning their writing abilities or the platform's compensation for their efforts. Personally, after three years of diligent writing, I have achieved an income of nearly $200 per month.

Section 1.1: The Role of Hard Work

This brings me to the second vital ingredient—hard work. Over these three years, I have penned approximately 3,500 articles.

In addition to the hours dedicated to writing, I've invested considerable time in promoting my pieces. Initially, I focused on producing even more content to capture attention. Nowadays, it's rare for a day to pass without logging into Medium for at least 30 minutes.
