While the forms of scholar-activism vary, I am particularly interested in those who translate complex academic findings for broader audiences.

Despite the sincere efforts that underpin this public engagement, intellectual work often faces harsh criticism from the very communities it seeks to serve. The rising costs of education, coupled with the influence of pundits, have fostered a climate of anti-intellectualism—an attitude that questions the value of expertise. Many advocate that anyone can acquire knowledge through self-study or "YouTube University," equating expertise with elitism and disregarding the significant contributions of scholars.

However, sharing knowledge rooted in expertise seldom aims to establish control or silence others.
