# Engaging Narratives and Insights from ILLUMINATION Publications

Chapter 1: Curated Collections and Community Spirit
Dear enthusiastic readers and fellow members of Medium, I’ve put together a collection of 154 curated lists that present fresh topics for new readers. While we manage a substantial workload involving the addition of numerous new writers and the publication of hundreds of drafts, I make it a point to showcase some hidden gems that deserve attention. Our dedicated editor, Aiden, has already highlighted 172 new pieces recently. 👏
As a special initiative, I’ve begun promoting boosted stories to enhance their visibility, as they often struggle to attract readers. Each month, I plan to incorporate older stories into upcoming collections. The effort invested by editors, nominators, and writers in crafting these narratives is immense—these stories are truly a labor of love. Although I don’t have any boosted pieces myself, I find joy in reading and promoting them.
In recent days, we welcomed over 500 new writers and I introduced them to previous collections. It's essential to provide support and encouragement to these newcomers, helping them build confidence and thrive. Our community is vibrant and inclusive, celebrating diversity.
Today, I was particularly moved by Dr. Yildiz’s story, which reflected his disappointment with his experiences on Medium—a sentiment I can relate to.
I recently reviewed my statistics and observed that the Medium algorithm has been significantly limiting the reach of my content on cancer and other topics authored by PhD professionals. I provided examples to illustrate this issue, which I find quite discouraging. If this trend continues, I may consider downgrading my subscription.
In yesterday’s discussion, I shared insights on the boosting process, initiating a debate about its perceived value, as many writers view it as a miracle solution for audience growth. I look forward to your perspectives and corrections on my thoughts.
I also wrote about an innovative study from Japan that offers hope regarding chronic diseases and their potential identification through gene therapies.

I found Dr. Mehmet Yildiz’s editorial bulletin on community building particularly inspiring. If you're interested in being interviewed by him, feel free to leave a comment on this story.
Today, I particularly enjoyed his piece titled "Tiny Steps, Big Results: The Consistent Use of Micro Habits for Better Health, Joy, & Productivity." Additionally, he has a humorous yet informative article aimed at older men, which you might find amusing to share with friends: "Why a 75-Year-Old Farmer's Balls Shrunk, But His Penis Stayed the Same."
Chapter 2: New Publications and Notable Interviews
My new publication, Health and Science, has made a significant impact and is growing as rapidly as its predecessor, ILLUMINATION. 🌞 I launched my first newsletter today, which received thousands of views in May 2024. You can read all about it in my first exciting newsletter detailing the successes of Health and Science.
I’ve begun curating health and science narratives from ILLUMINATION’s archives, hoping you’ll discover some valuable articles. Some of these were published before I joined Medium, which has been a delightful surprise.

Boosting Insights for New Writers
For writers eager to understand the boosting process, Dr. Yildiz has addressed frequently asked questions about the boost program on Medium. This information could have been incredibly useful to me a year ago, as it explains why none of my stories were boosted, leading me to pause my writing.
As a boost nominator, Aiden has highlighted stories from frequently boosted writers. So far, he has released four episodes of valuable insights and will continue to do so.
Thank you for engaging with these remarkable stories!
