Unlocking the Power of Sharing Your Productivity Tools

Chapter 1: The Birth of My Productivity Database
Initially, my intention was simply to create a Notion Database for personal use. I had amassed countless productivity methods, tips, and strategies, and I needed a way to streamline them. The goal was to have a comprehensive list of techniques that I could reference whenever I needed to focus on different aspects of my life—whether it was tackling procrastination, making decisions, enhancing sleep, or improving fitness.
I dedicated time to ensure that this resource was easily navigable and that anything that proved useful had a designated space in the database.

Section 1.1: Organizing My Tactics
Each strategy was categorized, and I included brief explanations to remind myself of the rationale behind each one. I also rated them on a scale of one to five—where five indicated a tactic I frequently employed and one represented those I tended to overlook.
This process began as a personal project, without the expectation of it becoming anything more significant. However, upon releasing a guidebook aimed at helping others navigate the “What do I do with my life?” dilemma, it sparked a shift in my perspective. While this article is not focused on that book, it marked my entry into the realm of digital products and highlighted what truly mattered to me: providing valuable resources to assist others.
Section 1.2: Sharing My Resource
I realized I was sitting on a valuable resource that could benefit others, yet I was keeping it to myself. So, I decided to publish it for free, and surprisingly, people still chose to pay for it.
The database was already created, and my intention was never to charge for it; I simply wanted people to make use of it. I opted to turn it into a free “purchase” to gauge genuine interest. After all, clicking on a link is easy, but sharing your email signifies a level of commitment.
Since launching, I’ve collected 60 emails and about $50 through a pay-what-you-want model. While these numbers may seem modest, they represent 60 engaged individuals who are eager to improve themselves. The fact that a significant number chose to contribute financially speaks volumes to me.
