Embracing Abundance: A New Perspective on Wealth and Life

Chapter 1: Understanding Abundance
Abundance can be perceived in various ways, and a common question arises: "Why do the wealthy seem to grow richer?" Is it merely a matter of perspective? As Mike Dooley aptly puts it, “A million dollars only feels substantial when it’s absent!”
According to Mike Dooley in "Notes from The Universe on Abundance," the key to wealth lies in recognizing that you are already rich. A friend gifted me a set of cards authored by Dooley, which inspired me to share his insights on this topic.
Since my retirement, I have been living on half of my previous salary, while my expenses remain unchanged and continue to rise. Consequently, I’ve had to make some adjustments to my lifestyle. While I appreciate some of these changes, I do miss the freedom that disposable income provided.
Nonetheless, I still experience abundance in my life. I engage in painting and writing, have welcomed two wonderful great-grandchildren, and am enjoying a new relationship with a partner who treats me kindly—something I hadn’t experienced before.
Abundance is not solely tied to financial wealth. It encompasses love, friendships, reconnections with family, shared experiences, fresh ideas, opportunities, actions, and emotions.
When unexpected positive events occur, prompting a surprised, “Wow! Where did that come from?!” it often signifies something beneficial and necessary. I express my gratitude to the universe: Thank You, God!
This realization struck me recently, as I experienced what I can only describe as a “God-send.”
Take a moment to reflect on your surroundings. Evaluate what you have, and focus on maximizing those positives. Shift your perspective, and you'll uncover what you might have overlooked. Take proactive steps to cultivate the good in your life while eliminating the negativity that holds you back—be it unhealthy habits, toxic relationships, or excessive consumption of media.
Your mindset shapes your reality.
“Your thoughts are tangible. Have you ever wondered why some individuals who achieve remarkable success and accumulate wealth seem so improbable? It’s because intelligence, appearance, and even creativity are secondary to belief. Achievers succeed because they believed they could,” states Mike Dooley in "Notes from The Universe."
Recognizing that you are already rich—and acting accordingly—is pivotal. This doesn't imply being boastful; rather, it means possessing the inner resolve to not allow others to hinder your progress. Stop sabotaging your own success. Clear the path for yourself and eliminate excuses.
If negativity feels omnipresent, confront it assertively! Transform your mindset, your heart, and consequently, your life. If change is needed, start taking small steps toward it. Engage in actions daily that support your transformation.
By doing so, you'll begin to notice positive developments unfolding in your life, even if they are initially hidden from view. As you embrace this reality, good fortune will start to manifest.
Your desires exist because you understand they are attainable. If they were impossible, you wouldn't even be aware of them. Embrace this potential! This belief alone can propel you forward.
I find this concept resonates deeply with me, and I continue to learn and evolve. It’s essential to refresh my understanding since abundance transcends mere financial wealth.
